Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful, restful vacation. I hope that you all enjoyed your belated holiday gift from your child. That last week threw a  curve-ball into our planning and made for a challenging end before vacation. I’m thrilled to be back and the kids are doing a great job of settling back into routine. They are a tired bunch  by the afternoon. I hope that you will help them to get the rest they need by getting them to bed early. This week we are focusing on Pandas in our worktime stations. We have learned a lot about these adorable creatures! In math we are looking at number value, as well as measurement, and graphing. Your children are becoming incredible writers and it is so exciting to see them expand their  stories and add interesting details. Their handwriting continues to improve, as well! We continue to work on correct letter formation. I encourage you to help with this at home. It is much harder to “unlearn” and “relearn” than to catch it now and really get correct formation in place. We will work on this all year long. My goal is to have each child writing all the letters correctly by the end of the year. The play that was cancelled due to snow will be rescheduled in March. We will send a notice as it gets closer and hope that all of you parents who planned to attend, will be able to attend in March.
